The Fjords is a shipping company based on one fundamental idea; to combine maritime industry and tourism in order to contribute to the development of both desirable and sustainable tourist destinations.
The goal is to develop tourism in the most beautiful fjords of Norway. In step with the shift towards a greener and more environmently friendly future, we are looking after and helping to preserve the thriving villages and the unique cultural landscape along the fjords.
The attractiveness of the destinations depends on thriving villages and settlements that take care of their traditions. The Fjords are helping to strengthen this work and aim to connect the tourism industry with local food businesses and culture to a greater extent than before.
Our crew are highly qualified and skilled seafarers. They are our public face and look after our guests. It is important to us that all our passengers feel safe and are well taken care of.
The Fjords is owned by Fjord 1 and Norway’s Best.
Fjord1 is the largest ferry company in Norway and operates from Rogaland in the south to Finnmark in the north.
Norway’s best is a subsidiary of Aurland Ressursutvikling (Aurland Resource Development), which for 15 years has developed a world-class destination in Flåm and the surrounding area.
